The Misfit Cork

With the sun shining bright in the sky and the winds blowing with soaring temperature, there I was working in our small little workshop amidst iron and oil, all of them adding up to the heat and sweat of my already drained body. This workshop being situated on the highway with open barren lands makes us more exposed to the harshness of desert summers. Our landlord, a farmer by profession is an old man with a body of a size zero skinny model, or maybe even thinner who no longer goes to his farm and lives close to the city. He and his family earn enough money to be able to be spoilt of few of the so called modern and urban habits along with his Indian roots.     When the scavenging goat comes by and chews the plants, the flowers, the leaves, even the stalks fall prey. Only those with strong deep roots survive, to regrow in due course.
